Sale of Surplus Vehicle

The Long Hill Fire District is accepting sealed bids for the purchase of the following surplus vehicle:

Vehicle Description

The vehicle was used by the Long Hill Fire District as a command/first-responder vehicle. Known cosmetic defects include rust and paint deterioration around the rear wheel arches, along with normal wear consistent with age and service use. Prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to inspect the vehicle before submitting a bid.

Emergency lighting, sirens, radios, and related public safety equipment have been or will be removed before the transfer of ownership.

Inspection

The vehicle may be inspected by appointment at the Long Hill Fire District Office, 5400 Main Street, Trumbull, Connecticut. (203) 452-0779.

Bid Submission Requirements

Sealed bids must be received no later than 12:00 PM (Noon) on July 9, 2026.

Bids may be submitted:

• In person; or
• By U.S. Mail

All bids must be received by the deadline stated above. Postmarks will not be accepted as proof of timely submission. Late bids will not be considered.

Minimum Bid

The minimum acceptable bid (reserve price) is $2,500.00.

Bids submitted below the reserve price will not be considered.

Vehicle Condition

The vehicle is being sold AS IS, WHERE IS, with all faults and without any warranties or guarantees, either express or implied. The Long Hill Fire District makes no representations regarding the condition, performance, mileage accuracy, merchantability, or fitness of the vehicle for any particular purpose.

The District reserves the right to continue utilizing the vehicle until transfer of ownership to the successful bidder.

Award of Bid

Bids will be opened at the Long Hill Fire District Office at 7:00p.m on July 9, 2026. The Long Hill Fire District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informalities, and accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the District.

Payment and Removal

The successful bidder shall remit payment within five (10) business days of notification of award. Payment shall be made by certified check, cashier's check, or other form approved by the District. The purchaser shall be responsible for all registration, taxes, title transfer fees, and removal of the vehicle.

Title and possession of the vehicle shall not transfer until the District has received and accepted full payment.
