Any registered voter and/or taxpayer of the Long Hill Fire District wishing to nominate themselves, or any other person, for the position of Fire Commissioner must do so, in writing to the District Clerk, prior to the April meeting or appear in person at the April meeting. Electronic mail is acceptable. Those being nominated must accept the nomination in writing prior to the April meeting or in person at the April meeting. No nominations will be accepted, and none may be made, after the conclusion of the April meeting or at the Annual Meeting in May.
ANNUAL MAY MEETING NOTICE
The Taxpayers and duly qualified Property Owners in the Long Hill Fire District within the town of Trumbull are hereby given notice.
That the Annual Meeting of the Long Hill Fire District will be held on Thursday evening, May 14, 2026 at 7:00 PM in Fire Station # 2 (Main Street & Wilmot Avenue) within the said district for the purpose of taking action on the following.
1. To present the annual Fire Commissioner's report.
2. To consider and act on the recommendations of the Fire Commissioners for a Budget Expenditure for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026.
3. To establish a Fire Tax Mill Rate on the October 1, 2025 Grand List.
4. To elect one (1) Fire Commissioner for a term of three (3) years. (7/2026 to 6/2029)
5. To present the Fire Chiefs Annual Report.
6. To consider, proceed, and act on any other Fire District activities.
