SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Long Hill Fire District : June 1 – August 7, 2026

  The Long Hill Fire District is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented college student for a Summer Internship focused on administrative and organizational support. This position offers hands-on experience in municipal operations, financial organization, and public safety support services.


Position Details

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (flexible)
  • Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week 
  • Compensation: $20.00 per hour 
  • Location: Long Hill Fire District Office, 5400 Main Street, Trumbull, CT 06611


Position Overview

This internship is ideal for a student interested in public administration, business, finance, or organizational management. The primary focus will be on improving office organization, supporting financial processes, and assisting with operational projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Organize, file, and maintain physical and digital records 
  • Assist with organizing and updating financial spreadsheets 
  • Assist with organizing and updating financial spreadsheets 
  • Support preparation for annual financial audits 
  • Assist with coordination and preparation of fire prevention education materials and programs 
  • Contribute to general office organization and efficiency projects 
  • Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned 


Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft  Excel and basic office software 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently 
  • Strong communication and  time management skills
